  1. welp if you want to train crew for your otherwise useless french tds this is the tank for you. To be honest I was hoping they add something new in the tech tree

  2. you mean this tank is REAL (as having existed in some form), not necessarily historical (like how the Kravagn is REAL but not necessarily historically accurate)

        1. well, here’s hoping the balance team gets to work on going back to how the old balance team worked. Historical values where historical values were known and balance the tank based on soft stats

I want my tier 8 Emil to be the MT it was considered to be with -14 deg of gun depression

            1. It was designated as a HT but considered a MT not for it’s armor (150mm turret front and 70mm hull front), but instead for it’s size and mobility

With a 550hp engine and a power to weight of 19.5hp/t being as small as it is it’s understandable why it was considered a MT

  3. It doesn’t have turret, which is bad enough in itself, and for a turretless TD a rather bad DPM. That’s a terrible mix.

But damn, it does look sexy.

    1. There is already a TD line for the french tree ; and more than enough lines in the US tree (2 TDs, 2 MTs – one ending with a HT – one HT – one of the best lines in game – and one arty).

These tanks screwed up nothing ; except WG’s PR in the case of Chrysler K. lol.

The only french line that could be done right now is a heavy line, and if anything it was fucked up by the AMX M4 49 which was supposed to be part of it iirc.
All the TDs need is a severe buff, especialy tier 6 to 8 (and tier 10 needs a gun buff, accuracy and velocity are terrible).

        1. Reading through that thread as best I can, it doesn’t seem like this thing screwed the line. There are still plenty of other real vehicles that could be used to fill in a tier 8 slot.

    1. Considering T-54 full gold chews through litteraly everything it meets in the first place ; I wouldn’t call your argument valid, or useful.

If you start using gold ammo as a way of testing a tank’s armor, the only thing that will be “decent” to your eyes will be tanks with overpowered armor.

Dont use gold as a base to balance anything, otherwise the game balance can only go worse.

  4. as balanced as this seems right now (thank you WG), I do think their timing could have been better… unless they are using this as an example of things to come in the future?

I’ll hold judgement for now but hopefully WG’s balance team has started to look at all premiums, over-armored tanks and premium/high pen guns to balance them because of recent events…

    Dreams are cheap after all

  5. Pretty cool, except French TD’s suck outside bathtub. If this had +\- 30 degrees traverse it would be pretty good with a slight DPM buff. Charioteer gets 2300 dpm with essentially same gun AND a turret.

  6. sucky enough penetration to make it in the tech tree
this is a new trend – TDs spamming gold to penetrate
they did 1 TD that has good enough penetration to not need gold… but they don’t put it in the tech tree because “Money – GOOD!”

  7. I still can’t get over how lazy the frogs are with naming.
Its name literally means 105(mm) Assault Cannon. Lazy bastards.
As for the tank itself: Typical WG logic. Instead of fixing a line, they make a prem to make people think there is a reason to play said unfixed, shitty line.

      1. Sadly, it can’t be told just yet.
Though, knowing how long WG takes to actually implement these new tier 8 prems, there MIGHT be a rework of the frog TD line in the ‘near’ future.
I remember how the Chrysler K appeared in 2016’s October, so based on that…
Hm, half a year. A’right, there really is a chance for a frog TD line rework within that timeperiod.

      1. I would most likely go with the American/British/German naming way, so it would be something like Furtif 105 (AMX) – a fitting name, a mark of a significant detail of it, and perhaps its manufacturer. Frogs liked to make different companies compete in creating new designs for given specifications, much like the Germans, so this seems to be more fitting, more uniformal and not lazy, like the way the actual thing is called.
