Possible WoT Bug

Quoting the video maker:

In this video, I put a tank hidden near a bush in the training room. I then went after it with another tank and rammed it. the video was recorded live, it is not a replay (a replay displays the FPS differently). At no point did the enemy tank become visible or spotted, I rammed it, and for a few seconds I was pushing around an invisible tank. this bug was introduced in the 9.15.1 patch.

    1. I also get this bug, especially when I’m in arty and ‘suddenly’ change the view (unscoped, satellite, battle assistant). There were multiple times when an enemy tank rushed at me, shooting, and I only spotted it after it passed by me or even killed me.

Until that the empty field was shooting at me.

And no, it’s not because of the connection, nothing has changed with it since before the last patch.

      1. This isnt a bug, its Microlag. Your computer holds all the game files on your harddrive where most games now are 90% stored in Ram. So basically it freezes while the PC gets the skin and model and camo for the new tank.

Arty mode and seitching from sniper view is your other test.

Go buy a SSD and this will stop for the most part. Unless you have a AMD chip that bottlenecks because once more the game is made for x1-2x core machines with 2 GB ram.

              1. Okay, found it, but when I open the file it shows up unreadable garbage.
Thanks for trying to help, I guess.

It isnt a bug, its your computer setup vs WOT itself.

You can go mod Engineconfig.XML and force preloads on and this problem gets way better as your PC is forced to load all the files into Ram.

I know because I was playing in Beta and when they changed the EngineConfig to disable preloads it sucked.

  2. This is just a client-server desynchronisation with the addition of FPS lag. It’s a sin to play games on a PC like that.

Here is what you need to change to fix this….

Go to WOT or WOWS directory and then to res. Copyengineconfig.xml and paste the copy into resmods folder.

Here is what it looks like in WOT. Go to true make sure its true.
Then limit your FPS to 60 if you have a normal refrsh monitor. If you dont the CPU and HDD waste resources going above 60.

    game
    preferences.xml
    true
    true
    COMPILED_SPACE

    false
    true
    1.0
    1.0
    0.2
    120————————-Set this to 65
    60

Now go to line 36 and change the stream size to 8048 instead of 2048. This has helped me a lot.

    2048———-8048

    Next
Go to here, on line 59 and MAKE SURE PRELOADS ARE FORCED ON

    false
    false——————–True
    false
    true

Lastly, go to soundmanager section and change the numbers to these exact ones.

    48
    32
    320
    24
    24

All these tweaks will double your smoothness at least. And if it doesnt you have a serious CPU/HDD issue.

I recommend killing ALL apps running in background and making sure WOT is set to high priority. I went as far as reserving 2 cores just for WOT and now it never lags on my AMD Phenom.

If your CPU is running other programs, it will slow WOT up bigtime. So close browsers and other stuff you dont need. A great program for this is…

Wisegamebooster. It kills all Programs and Processes your comp doesnt need

And if you have a AMD go DL Process Lasso. Its amazing. It auto prioritizes all programs running to make way for WOT.

  4. SFC_Storm is correct, this is no bug. It’s a RAM/VRAM problem – your PC can’t load models of all tanks in battle into the RAM and it drags them from HDD during the match itself, result of that is you can’t see the tank, simply because it can’t load it’s model.
